My opinion: After knowing the game and if I wouldn't own it already, I probably wouldn't buy it for the regular price (30€), but probably at a sale if it's 20€ or less. The best part of it is that SnowRunner toyota hilux Mods will save you a lot of time and. The downside of it is though: I have unlocked all maps and trucks and I'm currently at 20h gameplay in total and even the last 5h or so felt quite repetitive already, didn't play it since a couple of month. At one point before 2016 a map called Evil Forest (filenamed levelforest) was in work, but has never been completed and released, not much is known about it.

I didn't dive into the mod world, but from the stock game I'd say better get Mudrunner. List of maps available in Spintires and its DLCs. in hardcore-mode: on hard surfaces a closed diff-lock will overheat and if it's too hot your truck gets damaged, in 3rd person view you have an overlay for the diff-lock that changes from white to red, in 1st person I couldn't see any indicator for this no functional mirrors and really hard to judge what the truck/surface is doing Once you got used to this it's quite alright this way though since you can better control the truck's steering since you don't have to hold the thumbstick in it's position.ġst person view is immersive, but has 2 issues: Steering was a bit weird at first with gamepad, if you let the thumbstick center it means the trucks wheels stay in their current position, so it's different to pretty much any other game if you steer with thumbstick. In the hardcore mode it is a bit more tricky, but not that difficult. Shifting is much better on H-shifter though. 1st person with wheel is awesome, although a bit tiresome with loadcell (probably of if you reduce pressure for 100% brake signal). I've played Mudrunner both with wheel and gamepad, both 1st and 3rd person view.
So if you want to play with your wheel and have separate wheel+pedals (or shifter): GET MUDRUNNER.īut there have been a few changes in the gameplay with functions of the truck.Īttaching, using and releasing the winch is much faster and easier with the controls, so is operating the crane to load up wood onto a truck/trailer. I couldn't drive the 1st game with my wheel because it only supports one controller, but I have a G25 wheel+shifter and separate Fanatec pedals, so I could only use a gamepad. Mudrunner is more refined, but it's not too different. My experience on the 1st game is limited, but from what I remember the driving of the trucks is fairly similar. That was before the initial release of the game and I played the original game for 2-3 days until Mudrunner was released.
